Developing responsible digital citzenship in the Middle Years

Abstract:

The modern grade 7 students is inundated with images and info from a wide variety of sources, many of which are online platforms including social media.

While some classrooms engage technology in positive ways it can also be considered a measured risk when offering students the many facets of the internet.

As a research platform designed at generating positive digital citenzenship amongst young students, Edmodo as well as Freshgrade have become excellent tools offering students inroads to an online community that is both gauged at strengthening their familiarity with technology while ensure the correct checks and balances are in place to foster positivity and wonder.
